So I have an old camera pentax ME (film) I have lenses for it and the I have like the glare lens or the skyline lense to go on top of that a couple others too. Could I put that on my nikon j1 camera lens or even the 5o mm lens?

When you say "glare lens" do you mean a polarizing filter and when you say the "skyline lense", do you really mean the skylight filter?

The Nikon J1 10 mm lens use a 40.5mm filter.

If you check, you will see the many of the lenses used on the Pentax ME used 49 mm to 58 mm filters, so you would have to use a step down ring to accommodate those filters on your J1.

You could've mounted your Pentax lenses on a Pentax DSLR.

Your question relates to filters, the skylight filter is normally circular and comes in a range of 'sizes' to suit the filter thread of your lens.

A filter can be mounted 'screwed' onto any lens that has the same diameter as itself (and that has a filter thread)… The size of the filter thread is different on each lens, so you need to check which filter size the lens is.

If you have a filter system similar to the 'Cokin' system then you would need to attach the 'filter holder' to each lens with the correct size adapter ring for each lens… Then simply slide the filters into the 'filter holder'

At http://fotodiox.com/index.php you can find an adater to mount Pentax K or PK lenses on your Nikon 1. Although infinity focus is claimed, there will be no automatic functions available. You'll have to use stop-down metering and that is a real pain. For an explanation of stop-down metering just do a Google search.

I looked at a few Nikon 1 lenses and they use filters ranging from 40.5mm to 55mm in diameter. So look at the filters you have and the Nikon 1 lenses you have and see which ones match up. At the Fotodiox site you can also find step-up rings that will allow using, say, a 55mm diameter filter on a Nikon 1 lens requiring a 40.5mm diameter filter.

If you decide to go through with that, you are knowingly admitting that Pentax lenses are superior to Nikon.

The filters? It depends on the filter size of your Nikon's lens. You can try but don't force. If you are able to fit those old K-mount lenses on your J1 then the filters would be useful on them.
