Best compacts in all ranges?
Would like advice as its confusing out there model wise.
i'm after the best camera models from sony, canon, fuji, nikon in all three ranges
low end compacts
mid range compact
top end compact
bridge cameras (low, mid, top ranges each manufacturer)
can anyone help
That would take an age to work out.
Here's what I'd get if I wanted one.
low end compacts - there's no good low-end compact.
mid range compact. Canon S110
top end compact. Canon G15 http://www.dpreview.com/...hootout/19
But Canon G1-X and Sony RX100 have much larger 1" sensors.
bridge cameras. Canon SX50.
For low-end compacts, just avoid Kodak, Benq, GE and Vivitar.
If you're willing to splash out on a mid-range compact, you're probably better off with the manual controls and longer zoom of a bridge camera.
For high-end compacts, I'd rate the Pentax MX-1 above the competition.
Don't bother to look anywhere else, you get better value for money with a Fujifilm bridge camera. Whatever you do, avoid Nikon's L-series.
Why not take a look at a site like DP Review? - They carry more information than any of us could cram into one of these little boxes.
My opinion (for what it's worth) is Canon every time.
Canon Powershots and Ixus cameras are available from basic compacts to advanced. Pick the best one you can afford and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
