Why would windows live photo gallery import monochrome photos from photostream in color?
Uploaded photos via iPad in monochrome as saved in RAW format by Nikon, added them to photostream, photostream itself on all other devices remains the same, but Photo Gallery on Windows alters the photos such that the former-monochrome have data. How is this happening and what can I do to stop it?
You can't save Raw images as a B&W, a Raw image is the data from the sensor, including the colour information. The B&W and any other effects are held in a 'sidecar' file (usually an.xmp file). It would seem that Windows is not reading the data in the sidecar file and is showing the original Raw data. Just a guess.
