I bought a Nikon camara yesterday with a 32 gb memory card and the camara was working fine. Today I used it and it was working fine and I turned it on again and it told me that my memory card diddnt work it said to use a different one because that one could get damaged. I don't know why, I need help!

First, make sure the manual says you can use the memory card you bought. Also while memory cards are similar, some of the bottom-feeder brands are not much more than floor-sweepings, and actually do not work as well as other cards. Your camera manufacturer has gone to great lengths to test several cards, and those are the ones you should use.

Next, you should format the card in your Camera. Your camera will work best with a 32kb allocation block, and Windows or Macs will not necessarily format the cards with that setting.

And finally, there's a definite procedure to inserting and removing cards which is mostly ignored. Ignoring the procedure can result in corrupting your memory card.

The general procedure is:

1.never insert or remove a memory card into the camera with the power on. As well, never turn the power off when the camera is still writing to the card.

2.always unmount the memory card from the PC or Mac before removing it. The unmount procedure is different between them, but if you just pull the card out of the computer when you are done with it, you could corrupt it.

Try formatting the card. If it didn't work, you did something terribly wrong. Check the link out to see what it is exactly you did that caused this.
