Which camera is better Nikon D3400 or Nikon D5300?
Which camera is better Nikon D3400 or Nikon D5300?
The D5xxx series have tilting screens, but that's about it.
The Pentax K-70 has a tilting screen, a body motor (can autofocus with any AF lens), a pentaprism (brighter) viewfinder with 100% coverage, built-in intervalometer, weather-sealing, and the ability to meter with legacy lenses, making it roughly the equivalent of the D7xxx, at the price of a D5xxx.
Why you'd want to step down is intriguing.
Technically, the latter is better but in my opinion the only real difference is the D5300's articulated LCD. Just be warned. You'll get the same picture no matter what dSLR you use. Picture quality depends on your skill. The camera is only a tool.
The photos you get with either will be exactly the same. The D5xxx series has more bells and whistles than the 3xxx series, much more than just the articulated screen, but nothing that actually makes it take better pictures.
