Which camera for wedding?
My friend asked me to shoot her wedding and I currently have a Kodak and want to upgrade. Thinking about getting either the Nikon D5000x or D3100x. Which is better and what lense should I get?
Any dSLR will do. They are all basically the same. All dSLR's are good - all brands and all models. You just have to know exactly what you are doing to take full advantage of it.
The 18-55mm kit lens that comes with the camera will do. It can handle large group shots and portraits if you know how to use it properly. You will be walking a lot to get the right frame and angle of view and you will be mostly shooting close to your subject it.
If the wedding is indoors, you will need to buy a more powerful flash. Make sure you get one that is TTL compatible to your camera for easy use.
Canon mark 5
I recently bought the Nikon D3100 and I really like it. But any DSLR will do.
Just allow yourself time to become familiar with new camera before taking the wedding photos.
