Nikon SLR Cameras

What SLR camera would work best for me?

I'm not looking for anything too complicated. I mostly like these cameras for the fast shutter speed and interchangeable lenses. I've never owned one and I don't know what brand would be best or if buying one of the cheaper ones is a bad decision($500 Nikon as opposed to the $800)? Again I'm not looking for super advanced features I was also hoping there was a a colorful one? I'm getting one to be creative with photography so it would be nice if there was one that comes in a nice color to match that.

Canon, Nikon and Pentax would be the best.

It's not really how much you pay. Its how you use it. All DSLRs today have the same quality, especially above 2005.

Fortunately, they don't make DSLRs in various colors because this is a market for photography, not people wanting to look cool. I'm not saying you are, please understand that. However, Pentax does have a few models that are in white and red.

Nikon D3100, Canon EOS T2i, Pentax K-r are the best around $600 ;)

Get the Nikon D3100. Its a good DSLR for beginners. Will give you alot of opportunities to learn more about photography. Take great quality pictures, decent videos and above all is quite simple to use. DSLRs don't come in color, they're simply black. And that's one thing i really like about them, doesn't it make you feel fancy and pro? It does to me. But anyway, i have never seen a colorful one.
