What's a really good camera that takes professional pictures?
I may sound really dumb for asking this, but is there like a Nikon camera or something like that that takes good pictures, that's not too expensive?
Please "Add details' and tell us how much you want to spend. For some, $2, 000 is "not too expensive" and for others $200 would break the bank.
To answer your question, which is actually two questions. There are lots of really good cameras out there. Cameras don't take professional pictures, professional photographers do. If you think getting something with a popular name brand on it or one with lots of "cool" settings will give you pro results, think again.

Please, please, please try and understand that the camera is a tool and even the most sophisticated, expensive camera will NOT take good pictures if it is in the hands of a person who does not know what they are doing.
Virtually any of the current crop of cameras from the main manufacturers will take good quality pictures, whether those pictures are "good" or not from a photographic point of view is entirely down to the user of said camera.
Professional pictures are ONLY taken by professional photographers.
Do not equate professional with good all the time as can be seen by looking at some of the so called "professional" pictures which abound on the www.
We need to know your budget. Simply saying "… Not too expensive… " is pointless.
In 41 years I have never owned a camera that took good pictures.
In 41 years I habe never owned a camera that took bad pictures.
However, in 41 years I have used a camera to make some darned good pictures and I have used a camera to make some darned bad pictures. The camera gets neither the credit nor the blame - its all on me.
Buying a set of mechanic's tools doesn't make you a mechanic.
Buying a set of high-end pots and pans doesn't make you a chef.
Buying a set of carpenter's tools doesn't make you a carpenter.
Buying a DSLR doesn't make you a professional photographer.
Cameras don't take professional pictures - people do.
Define "not too expensive"! Are you a millionaire - then a few thousand is loose change. Student on a tight budget then 100 is too much.
Just buy the most expensive Nikon you can afford and work from there
