What is the purpose of using this type of Huge lenses Sigma 200-500mm f/2.8?
What's the use of using this lens and I got a shocking price tag from amazon 26000 $ , What type of photos are taken with this lenses and with what camera it is attached? Can you give a sample photos take with this camera?
Mostly for shooting wildlife at dawn and dusk when the light is low.
Even when sitting downwind from an animal, it is important to have use of a long lens like a 400 mm or 500 mm.
Since as you say, $26,000 is a whole lot of money, I would doubt that too many of people here would own such a lens.
Sigma makes lenses that will fit most major brands of cameras, so the camera could be one like a Nikon D810, Canon 5D, Mark III or other that produces high resolution still images.
EDIT: Weighing nearly 35 pounds, this lens would need to be mounted on a very sturdy tripod and having a photo assistant along would also be helpful
The lens is for use on a regular SLR or dSLR
The Sigma 200-500mm f/2.8 is a telephoto zoom lens with a wide maximum aperture used for things such wildlife or sports photography in low light.
