What is the field of view of 200mm on a full frame (Nikon FX) camera?
On crop factor 200mm is more zoomed in than full frame right? But on full frame wouldn't 200mm look like 135mm on DX? Because 135 times 1.5 crop factor is 200mm. To me 135mm on DX isn't much of a telephoto.
On full-frame, 200mm angle of view is around 8 degrees, compared to the 13 degrees of a 135.
I'm not entirely sure where you're going with this.
135mm became the standard telephoto for 35mm because it was the longest that would couple with the rangefinder of a Leica, although by the early 'eighties it had fallen out of favour with amateurs who preferred zooms.
A 135mm for 35mm would be fairly close to a 200mm for digital, yes.
