What cameras have HDR?
I need a list of Nikon cameras that have HDR bracketing and I'm looking for one WITHOUT video.
Why is it you need to do this "automatically"?
HDR image exposure is based upon the dynamic range of the scene, not some on-camera feature to do that work for you.
You really need a hand held light meter so you can get correct meter readings of both the highlights and shadow areas of the scene.
Once you determine the dynamic range of the scene, you then only have to take the necessary exposures that assure that when you merge them, you will have an excellent image, covering that dynamic range.
Auto-anything but perhaps auto-focusing, is always a compromise.
When shooting HDR, there's really no hurry to take those shots.
Have you called NikonUSA and asked them? This would be the most straight froward way to get a quick answer, but I encourage you to shoot HDR images methodically and with skill.
The Nikon DF has an HDR function (in JPEG mode only) and no video. It's expensive though.
Alternatively, you could just get a camera which takes bracketed shots (nearly all of them do this) and then put them together to create an HD picture in a program like Photomatix.
The last Nikon DSLR without video (apart from the DF) was, I think, the D3 / D700. Everything since then has had video in whether you want it or not.
