Recommend a cheapish manual SLR?

So I really want to get a manual SLR for a bit of experimental use as I've only ever had digital cameras, I don't really want to spend much on it but enough so it's a decent camera. My friend has a Nikon F50 which she got fairly cheap and I really like it. Anyone got any ideas on what I should get?

You can get a used Nikon F80 including a basic kit lens (28-80mmG) for less than $100 on ebay.
