Photography.for the most dumbest dummy?
I know NOTHING about photography. AT ALL. I'm hardly paying rent, but I still want a hobby. My aunt used to do photography, and I want to know the basics? Canon or Nikon? What about lenses? And lighting! Ugh I want to solve this mystery!
1. Get a camera. 2. Turn it on. Usually there's a little button that says on/off. 3.point it at something. 4. Press the biggest button that is on top of the camera, then it usually takes a picture.

Before you invest in spendy equipment start with a point and shoot 35mm or digital
(meaning no fumbling with gizmos, just point and snap the shutter.) When you have mastered the basics, then invest in a more expensive camera. Which medium are you working with, film or digital?
With film, you have film speeds to choose from (meaning how sensitive the film is to light, the higher the speed the more sensitive it is) shutter speeds aperture stops etc which is entirely too complicated for someone with limited knowledge.
there are websites that teach photography basics and check with your local library for beginning photography books.
Does your community have enrichment courses offered through the local high school or college for no credit? Consider signing up and taking one if they're offered,.
