Nikon SLR Cameras

Nikon or Canon? I need a new camera?

I'm thinking about selling my camera and getting a new one because I don't really like the one I have. Right now I have a canon eos rebel t3i. I've seen very impressive shot photos and most of the time those photos are taken on Nikon camera. So I'm curious: is Nikon better than canon in your opinion? And If I decide to get a Nikon which do you suggest?

A poor craftsman blames his tools. Your current camera is capable of astoundingly good images. The camera brand doesn't matter if the photographer doesn't learn his craft.

I own Nikon so I think they are better. They have larger sensors and the build quality seems better.

But photographer skill is a huge factor.

My friend has a T3i, and to me, it is pretty cheap looking.

The D3100 is equivalent to your T3i. The D3200, D5100, D5200, D7000, D7100 and up are all a step up from your T3i.

I wouldn't touch either, but AVDADDY has a point - there's nothing wrong with your camera that learning to use it properly won't fix.

If you can't get good results with the Canon Rebel, a Hasselblad D4 wouldn't help either.
Learn to use what you already have.

I have and shoot Nikon. But there's nothing that you can't do with your T3i, given the right lenses, experience, and technique. Frankly, your current camera is VERY capable. If you have any other lenses besides your kit lens, then you'd be completely starting over, as well.

Look here at some 23 million samples of images captured by the camera you own. Use the Search box at the bottom of the page to view subjects that match your interests.

p.s. And I would definitely "touch" both Nikon and Canon, because you need to make up your own mind.

Whatever camera you use, you get the same result. Picture quality depends mostly on user skill. The camera is only a tool. You don't need a new camera. You only need to learn photography.
