Nikon D80-How to take pictures with Christmas lights?
Some friends and I are going to see the lights at Disneyland and we want to get pictures with the holiday lights but in past years we haven't had luck with the flash and the photos haven't turned out well. Any suggestions?
Same like with any other camera. Either bring a tripod or turn up the iso, open the aperture and shoot as slow as you dare.
There are lots of sites out there with detailed suggestions

Don't use flash.
Use a tripod or other steadying device.
Leave the aperture open as long as possible.
If you're taking just the lights, setup a tripod and use a long shutter speed. If you are taking photos of you or your friends, use a flash and long shutter speed. Just using the default settings won't work well.
Set it on a tripod for exposures longer than 1/60. I'd try putting it on the "Bulb" setting & experimenting with it. That way the flash won't pop up & you might get some cool motion in there with the people walking around.
Also, make sure your ISO isn't that high, to avoid noise.
