Nikon D7200 M Mode shutter speed?
I just got the new Nikon D7200 and love shooting M mode but recently my shutter speed has been automatically changing. It wasn't doing this when I first got it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Sounds like you have the camera in A (Aperture Priority) mode, not Manual. Or maybe the mode dial is screwed up. Or maybe your camera needs repairing.
Make sure that the shooting mode index is pointed at the "M" on the camera. If you find that the camera is shooting at one specific shutter speed, that means you have it set to shutter priority mode
The "fix" is to spend more time with your user manual, learning how to use its controls effectively and visit the link below to learn how to balance ISO, shutter speed and lens aperture using the cameras lightmeter.
So you thought those settings will stick wherever and whenever in manual mode? Guess not! Everything is perfectly normal. Your camera is correct. Believe it.
Learn photography. Light is always different, even if you simply zoom in and out on a fixed target. If yo uwant to shoot in M mode, keep up with the light - change settings.
