Go to a store and try one for yourself. I have the D5000, and am very happy with it.

Never base your buying decisions on a YouTube video, especially for a camera costing hundreds of dollars.

First, you don't know how competent the person creating the video is, and second, you do not know if they have a nefarious agenda.

As "thank you", the poster below pointed out, these photos were apparently taken from imaging-resource.com. And I heard the narrator of the YouTube video states he processed these photos from the RAW format, when in fact they are JPGs if they came from imaging-resource.com. Is the narrator being dishonest?

As well, the original photo from the D5200 was 10% larger than the photo from the Pentax. But in his video, the D5200's photo is slightly smaller. Anytime you make changes to a JPG - especially resizing - you deteriorate the photo's quality.

This has the appearance of someone, perhaps with an agenda wanting to make a camera look bad.

Again, don't believe everything posted on the internet. If you end up choosing the Nikon D5200 or Pentax K30 is up to you, but don't base your decisions based on reviews such as this.

In my opinion anything posted on youtube should, in most cases, be ignored. I place considerably more trust in the accuracy of camera reviews by Imaging Resource or DP Reviews.
