Nikon and problems with record time?

I just recently purchased the Nikon L810 and I do love it but it is my first camera and I'm pretty confused… I read the manual but it's not fixed my problem… Online it says no matter what SD card it will record at the most 29 minutes but it only records 30 seconds on HD 720p and 1 minute on VGA:-S I'm so confused how do I get it to record for 29 minutes…

You need to use a fast memory card, class 10 would be the best.

You might be using an SD that is too low capacity and too low class. For HD video, ideally you should have at least a Class 6 SD card of at least 4GB capacity.
