Nikon 50mm f 1.8g lens problem?

I love my lens but the lens cap is hard to put on, it dosen't just clip in nicely like on my other lenses. You really have to play with it to get it to stay on, and where it says the lens info on the front, its coming off from the lens cap not staying put.anybody else have this problem or do i have the wrong cap size or something?

If it is the older AF-D model, that has a 52mm filter thread. The new AF-S model uses a 58mm filter thread. I have found that Nikon brand caps often go on and off more smoothly than off-brand lens caps.

You should be able to pick one up for pennies if that one is broke. It is a very popular filter size at 52mm. Maybe the spring is broke inside the squeezy bit.
