Nikon 1 or classic dSLR?

I'd really like to get into photography and movie making (as a hobby) and would like to know if Nikon 1 really is better than standard dSLR for video capturing and occasional photo shooting? If not which camera should I buy? Price up to 600 € (780 $) …

The Nikon 1 isn't better when it comes to quality, noise performance and other things, except for the small size. It uses a much smaller sensor, that's why even the cheapest Nikon DSLR today will be better.

Nikon D3100 is what you should get.
