Nikon 1 J1 or the traditional SLRs for beginners?
So, I'm a teenage girl who wants to take good pictures and maybe some videos. I'm not looking for pro-kinds of camera, I just want gorgeous and vivid photos. I've see the pink version of the Nikon 1, but it's not a DSLR. I like DSLRs but they all come in blacks. I'm so confused.
You are right, most dSLR camera come in black.
There's a red Nikon D3200 however

If you want a camera you can stick in your purse or briefcase with spare lens, the Nikon Series 1 may be what you would like the best
It depends whether or not you're serious about photography.
Believe me, carrying a pink Nikon 1 (a bad camera, even in black) will create an impression, but respect won't be a part of it.
I shoot with a white dSLR. My wife shoots with her red dSLR. It doesn't matter whether I use a black, white or red camera. I get the paid if I need to get paid.

Just an observation. The red dSLR, gets people to smile more easily than the white or the black one.
No need to worry about the color of your camera, unless you want to look cool. But what's the point in that? All DSLRs come in black, which means brands don't need colors to sell them but only a good camera.
Canon EOS T2i, T3i, Nikon D3100 and D5100 are all great.
