What does each lens do?

I'm want to buy a Nikon D3300 DSLR and see that there are different types of lenses to use… Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Nikkor, Nikon 55-300mm VR DX AF-S ED, 650-1300mm Telephoto Lens, etc. I was wondering what each lens is made for. Thank you.

The 18-55mm kit lens is a standard zoom lens that can be used to shoot landscapes and large group shots at around 18mm, people, pets and most anything at around 35mm, and portraits, head shots and details at around 55mm. What it can't do is make distant objects seem near which is what a telephoto zoom like the 70-300mm and 55-300mm can. The 70-300mm is more limited in zoom range than the 55-300mm but in the field, that is negligible. What is more important is that optical quality is expected to be better with shorter zoom ranges so the 70-300mm is better than the other in terms of that. When shooting outdoor sports under the sun, the 70-300mm is also more ideal but if you also want to use your telephoto zoom for portraits, you would want more flexibility so the 55-300mm would do better in this case. The 650-1300mm is a super telephoto lens that can really pull very far subjects closer to you like when shooting surfers from the beach or when shooting dangerous wildlife from a safe distance.
