Whenever I take pictures with my Nikon DS3100 with lens of 40mm macro dx lens by nikkor; any pics taken that are with fast movement that area becomes blurry such as hands movement fast. Why so? Settings issue? Please help

Added (1). To the first anwser: but my kit lens do not have the that problem. I know its a setting issue but I can't figure it out on the 40mm lens; as ISO moves by 200s such as 100, 200, 400

Blurry pictures is the result of the photographer, not the camera and definitely not the lens

blurry pictures is caused by slow shutter speeds and movement. Raise the shutter speed.

you need to learn the relationship between ISO, shutter speed, and aperture

the lens has nothing to do with it. It is obvious that you have the camera on auto. You need to change that. Blurry pictures ONLY comes from slow shutter speed and movement. You need to up the shutter speed to get rid of motion blur

I agree with Dr. Iblis that it is probably a matter of the shutter being too slow for the subject movement. However, since you believe there's a difference between lenses you should try to run some kind of well controlled, side-by-side test. Use manual exposure. If the exposure is set so that it looks correct for one lens, then, if the light is not changing, does it look equally well exposed with the other? Is the kit lens zoomed to about 40mm?

You need to set matters so that you have a reasonably fast shutter speed. That is the only way to avoid blurr when hand holding the camera and photographing objects that move fast, especially when photographing in close-up. Aim for at least 1/200th, preferably 1/400th. That reduces depth of field, but that's a trade-off that you have to make. Consult your handbook as to how to set the shutter speed. You may need to raise the ISO to get more speed and depth of field, try not to go above 400 ISO.
