It's good, but grossly over-priced for what it is.
You could get a Fujifilm, for half as much, that would serve you just as well. Nikon make decent DSLRs, but their compacts leave something to be desired and their bridge models are either good, but stupidly expensive (like this one) or absolute rubbish (the L-series).
