What professional cameras would you guys recommend? ( ex: cannon, nikon.etc)
that it also has to record videos! $500 and down.

Pro and $500 are not possible. If you want pro min is $3000 to start. Stick with Canon 5D Mark II

Below 500 for a professional camera isn't possible. However I just purchased the Canon Rebel T3i and it was $714.00 for the camera, I also got the 2 year warranty. I love my camera has great video and amazing photos. If you have decent credit most places may approve you for financing it. I financed mine so I pay payments! As long as you pay the payments there's not interest for 18 months at best buy. It's awesome.

I agree that's not enough money. The closest you can come, based on the idea that you're calling a consumer level dslr camera a "professional" camera is about $600 for Canon t3.

With that price range, the best you could do is probably Nikon P500, or Canon SX30IS.
