The Olympus E-PL3 is a possibility. The body is a liitle more bulky than the Sony, but there's a good selection of lenses, and many of the lenses (such as the 14-42mm kit lens) are less bulky than the Sony equivalent.

With Canon's EOS-M just released, the J1 and V1 are currently on sale. The models mentioned in some of the other answers are also decent choices.
