It would work.
Ken Rockwell describes it favorably.

Hi that depends on mostly what you know as a photographer.

Fairly well, although it wouldn't give quite the reach of an 18-55mm on cropped-sensor.

I'd be careful, though, generic lenses are a mixed bag (some truly awful) but Nikon's own lenses are reasonable performers.

Not sure what you by "how well." It's a lens that's designed for an FX camera like the D750.
If it's the focal length and aperture that you require, then it'll work very well.

What do you mean by "How well"? If the lens was made for full-frame and 35mm film cameras then there's no point questioning about compatibility. How the lens performs exactly is all up to you.

Are you asking about the Nikkor AF-S 24-70 mm f/2.8 lens? The Nikkor AF-S 28-70 mm f/2.8 is an older, discontinued lens. My guess is you are interested in saving money to add to your full frame camera kit

That lens is very sharp and works just fine when shooting fashion, sports like basketball, volleyball or other court sports.
