I have a Nikon 1 and was carrying it in my bag along with some breakfast and my syrup went through the burger king bag and got it all over the camera, the camera is fine and i cleaned it up pretty good but it got inside the buttons and its sticky and dry, i tried a wet tooth pick but it didn't work, and no i don't have a warranty

Hang camera upside down, get a hair dryer, and heat the camera allowing the syrup to thin, and fall by gravity in the direction you want it to and then use that toothpick dipped in hot water or some alcohol and see if you can do the same cleaning routine but do so with temperature, gravity, and possibly a light solvent assisting you.

As a general rule in cleaning gadgets, you use isopropyl alcohol to clean your electronic gadgets because it evaporates.

Do NOT use isopropyl alcohol on the front lens element unless you want to destroy the expensive lens coating. Go to a camera shop and see what they recommend.

Be careful with wet things because water and cameras don't mix well - getting it wet would be a great way to short out the electrics and finish the camera off for good. I suspect that you will need it to be professionally cleaned and that's going to cost you.
