How to check nikon N70 SLR Film camera if working? - 1

I don't have any idea about slr film cameras, even the digital ones, basically i don't have any ideas about slr.

I'm buying a second hand SLR N70 film camera tomorrow, what should I check? What is the battery of this camera? What is the film? Where to buy film, etc?

Make sure that the battery is working.

Buy a cheap roll of film, 12 exposure if you can find it, or 24 exposure.

In bright sun, the exposure should be 1/ISO @ f/16

If the film advances properly and the exposure showing in your camera is as mentioned above, the camera should be just fine.

Do check the lens and make sure that its front element is NOT scratched. If there's a UV filter on the lens, the person probably took good card of it. Look over the whole camera for any obvious damage.

IF the camera looks to be in good shape, advances the film properly, the light meter shows the correct readings in bright sun and auto-focuses properly, you should be good to go.

If you are buying only the camera (no lens), bring a lens with you so you can test all the cameras features as mentioned above

If you are so intellectually challenged that you don't even download the manual to check this…

don't buy it, get one of those little ones where you only have to press the button.
