How to turn flash off on a Nikon 3100?
I just got a new camera; a Nikon 3100 and I'm still learning how to use it.
But I have no idea how to turn off the flash, because I don't always want to use it.
And any more tips on how to use this camera?
Simply put the flash down
Get out of "program" or "full auto" modes. Use P or A mode -- then it won't pop up automatically.
The tips are in the owners manual. Better yet, you can go to a book store and buy a book just for the 3100!
EDIT: Just pushing the flash down doesn't work on all cameras. In some cameras the flash will pop up automatically in lower light situations.
The flash often works automatically in the subject programmes, try using Aperture- or Shutter Priority or even (gasp!) Manual.
