What is opticaly the best wideangle zoom for the Nikon D800E?

I'm thinking something that ideally covers all the most widely used wide-angle settings ( 16, 20, 24, 28, 35mm)

I guess that would be the Nikon AF-S 16-35mm f4.

The Nikkor AF-S 17-35mm f2.8D IF-ED is a full stop faster so it would be my choice.

I suggest you ask the dedicated Nikon user community forum at http://www.nikonians.org/ where you will find more people who will have direct experience of the lenses you are interested in.
