Nikon 35-70 F3.3-4-5 any good on Nikon D3/Full frame DSLR?
I'm thinking of getting this lens to add to my bag, I have the following:
Nikon D3
Nikon 80-200 2.8 AF-S
Nikon 50MM 1.8 AF
My question is, is this a good lens to pair with my Nikon d3? Will I get good results and Image quality?
If not what zoom lens should I get? Lets put 24-70 2.8 aside cos I just purely can't afford that right now.
Another question is what primes is better Nikon 24mm or Nikon 35mm on D3?
How about the Tamron SP 28-75mm F/2.8?
You have a professional level DSLR but don't know how to pick a new lens?
Go to www.slrgear.com and www.photozone.de and start reading reviews about the lenses you are interested in.
You didn't say what kind of photography you're in to.
Generally speaking, since you have a telephoto, I'd say get something wide. The 35-70 is not wide enough. I just looked at Nikon's site and in truth, the 24-70 2.8 is the best one.
Have a look here for some alternatives: http://www.twin-pixels.com/the-definitive-lens-buyers-guide/
I guess the Tamron 28-75 should be fine. I have a 70-200 f/2.8 Tamron and it's a fine lens.
The AFS Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-5.6G, though discontinued, has been said to be a very good lens at a good price. If you can find one used, go for it.
Both the 35-70mm f2.8 and 28-70mm f2.8 are great lenses that are out of production and will work fine on your D3. I use both of them at least 5 days a week…
24mm is much wider but in terms of sharpness either are perfect…
