How to use the self timer on the nikon d200?

I just simply want to use the self timer. I don't know how to activate it, there's all these settings for it, but i just don't know how to actually switch the self timer on…
i want to take a few pictures of myself but i just need the self timer.

Turn the wheel on the top left of the camera till the timer symbol comes into view. Place the camera and press the shutter release.

The time duration for the timer can be changed from the menu.
