How does the Nikon D600 compare with the D700 and D800?
What do you guys think? It the D600 living up to its hype? I went to a camera store today and I was playing with it a little bit. I'm thinking about buying the Nikon D600.

As you will see the D800 and D800E top the list when it comes to sensor performance
The D600 comes in at number 3 and the D700 is at number 16.
I think I'd have to agree with Ken Rockwell on this-

D600 is my next purchase.

The D600 is an upgrade in almost every way over the D700. Higher resolution, newer technology in the sensor and focus system, better high ISO performance, and of course it can shoot movies. The D700 does have some advantages, but nothing that would make it worth buying over a D600. Faster minimum shutter speed, nice for very bright days with very large apertures but the 1/4000 of the D600 is typically fast enough for all but the most extreme situations. You won't miss this.
The D700 has more focus points, 51 vs the D600's 39. 39 is enough. Most professionals just use the center one and recompose anyway. The D700 also has a nicer round eyepiece compared to the D600's rectangular eyepiece.
The D800 has all of the advantages of the D700 with none of it's disadvantages. It is superior to the D600 in every way except price.
- Does the Nikon D600 have better dynamic range than the D700? As much as 1 full stop?
- I'm hearing of spotting problems with Nikon D600. Does this problem exist on the D800?
