Will a nikon 80-200 f/2.8 atofocus on a D90?

I have been looking a getting a nikon 80-200 f/2.8d ed but have herd some people say that it will not atofocus on some nikons will i work on my D90.

Yes, the D90 has an autofocus motor in the camera body, so it can autofocus with AF lenses and doesn't require AF-S ones such as the entry level nikon cameras.

I may miss a few but the D1, D2, D3, the D70, D50, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300, D700 and the D7000 have focusing motors built into the bodies and will work with all AF lenses (except for a couple of legacy lenses made for the F3AF). Cameras that do not work would include the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000 and D5100.
