Make sure your lens is on properly.
1.Is your battery charged?
A dead battery is usually the first suspect.
2.Is your memory card full after being used in the other camera?
If your memory card is full, or is locked, then you won't be able to take any photos.
3.Is your autofocus set for AF-S, instead of AF-C or AF-A?
In AF-S mode, you'll need an exact focus before the shutter will release.
4. Have you changed any of the settings (lower ISO, faster shutter speed, smaller f/stop)?
The camera won't take a picture if the settings are outside of what's needed for the situation in any of the auto modes.
Hope this helps.
Your camera is probably set up to NOT take photos that are out of focus or over/underexposed when in any of the program, shutter priority or aperture priority modes.
Take your camera outside and in the manual mode, set the camera to 1/ISO @ f/16 in bright sun. You should get a perfectly exposed image. If not, there's a chance that a buffoon at the party got hold of your camera and damage it
1. Don't post your email address carelessly around like that. Expect a lot of spam in your coming starting now.
2. If somebody knows what happened, should anybody help you?
3. Try a new memory card and a freshly charged battery. If the camera still does not work bring it back to the store you bought it from and ask for servicing.
