Why is the Nikon D7000 video so grainy?

Recently went for a video trial with my Nikon D7000. However the video came out very grainy. The iso was at 100, i was using a nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, and A/2.8 and S/2000.was on a bright day as well, and it seemed that the video comes out very grainy. Is there a way i can fix this?

Since you say you are shooting in bright sun, then at ISO 100, you should have excellent video as a result.

You say that your 24-70 mm f/2.8 lens was set to f/2.8

What do you mean by S/2000, what is S/2000?

At 1/30th second (30 fps), the aperture would have to be about f/32. Remember the "Sunny 16 rule", 1/ISO @ f/16.

What that means is that at f/2.8 you are grossly over exposing the video, thus the very noisy video

If you were using a real video camera, the and filter would be inserted into light path to make up for the excess light when shooting at shutter speeds consistent with video or cine frame rates

So, your shutter speed is 1/2000th. If you were shooting 30 fps, you probably want a shutter speed of 1/60th.

After that, you want to start shutting down your aperture, maybe all the way to A/32. Keeping the ISO at 100 is good.

Keep experimenting. I'd probably shoot in Aperture priority and see what the camera set the Shutter to.
