Which stores sell Nikon d40?

I live in metro-area Iowa and am wondering which stores are going to sell the Nikon D40 camera, if any. I've looked a bit online and tried looking at Best Buy/other electronics stores online, but I'm not finding many listings of D40s. Do they still sell them in retail areas? I know there are newer versions of Nikon cameras, but I don't want to spend a fortune. Also, which lens does the D40 come with? If I buy the body online, or buy the camera with a lens, how do I know if it's the lens that I want? (I realize that doesn't make a ton of sense… I'm a fairly new photographer and I've used the D40 before and loved it, but I don't want to buy a camera online and have it come with a different or more specific lens than what it comes with originally.)

Why not go with a Nikon D3100?

It is the newest in the entry level range camera and should be more readily available.

The Nikon D40 has been discontinued for year, but remains a well-loved camera. If you want a new camera at a very good price, consider the Nikon D3000, one of the later upgrades for the D40. The D3000 itself has been replaced by the D3100, so if you find one, you'll find it at a clearance price. The D3000 handles like a D40 and has the same controls that you're familiar with.

Here's one from Amazon.com (a very reputable vendor) that comes with an 18-55mm VR zoom lens for only $449.99.

You can try amazon or ebay. Also, I put a posting on Craigslist that I was looking for a D40 and I got about 4 replies. They were asking anywhere from $250-$300, and some people wanted to include a memory card too. Awesome deal!
Just go on craigslist and make a post saying
"looking for a nikon d40!
id like to buy a nikon d40 with lens and battery/charger.
please contact me with what you have and the price you're asking for"
something along those lines. But make sure you get it in person, don't have
send a check in the mail or anything cause they could rip you off. And make sure
before you buy it you ask if everything works fine, why they are selling it, etc.
And when you get it take a few test shots before paying.
