Which lens give me the same zoom like canon sx50?

I never use a dslr before. I'm a fan of higher zoom compack camera. I use many higher zoom camera like canon, nikon, fujiflim who give me 50x, 41x, 30x zoom.recently i buy a nikon d3200 camera. With 18-55.dslr picture quality was impress me. But it does't give me the zoom like camera sx50(50x).tell before that i'm a fan of long zoom. Now i want to buy a lens who give me the same zoom like canon sx50 (50x). Does anyone tell me that which lens should i buy at lower price

They would be far to large, heavy and costly.

People who use cameras like the D3200, buy just the lenses they need to match the subjects they shoot

The longest Nikkor zoom at this time is the 18-300 mm. It is used by people who want a one lens solution when out shooting.

The SX50 has a zoom factor of 50… Which means its 35 mm equivalent is 24 mm to 1200 mm.
Absolutely unheard of. Even if there was such a lens for a DSLR, it would cost $$$$.

Making a lens to cover a larger sensor size complicates the design a lot. It is not as simple as just scaling it up proportionately in size. That is why you don't find the super duper zoom ranges for DSLR lenses that can work reasonably well in compact digital camera zoom lenses.

DSLR lenses can only go up to around 16X zoom. That's the Nikon 18-300mm zoom lens.

There are two reasons why zoom lenses in dSLR's don't reach mega-values. First is the cost. DSLR's have bigger sensors requiring lenses with bigger glass. Second can be blamed to science itself. An optical element can project an image perfectly only to a single focal length. Forcing the lens to act in different focal lengths degrade optical quality. In short, the more zoom a lens has, the poorer it is functionally. That's why in the dSLR world, the best lenses are those that do not zoom.

Sigma 50-500 + 2x teleconverter + sturdy tripod will do it, but you will need to hire a porter to carry it all. (see link discussion)

Alternatively, get a Sony camera and then you can fit the 500mm f8 AF Mirror Lens. Entry level Nikons will not meter with manual focus mirror lenses like the Tamron 500mm I use on my Sony.

Canon SX50 is currently ruffling feathers in the serious Birding community. If you actually need that long telephoto, buy this camera instead of huge and expensive DSLR lenses!

The primary reason a DSLR does not have a 50x lens is that those lenses are sub-quality.

And of course, they would be awfully big.

Due to the quality issues, no one owning a DSLR would buy one as DSLR owners - at least those that would shell out thousands of dollars for such a lens insist on high quality.

50x zoom lenses on compact cameras have poor quality. But the typical owner of these cameras has no idea they are using inferior lenses.

There's a path to a 50x lens with a DSLR though, and that is by the use of multiple - higher quality lenses - which is the whole concept to an interchangeable lens camera.

If you buy a 10-24mm zoom, a 24-70mm zoom, a 70-200mm zoom, a 200-400mm zoom and say, top it off with a 600mm prime, you have a total of 60x zoom. Unfortunately, this will cost you a significant amount of money, but you will maintain a high degree of quality; far better than a 50x compact camera.

The wost mistake novice DSLR owners make is not considering the lenses, as lens selection is more important than the DSLR body.

To get those big zoom numbers, camera makers cheat and use the smallest image sensor they can.

That's how they get 50x zoom in a small package.

You can't have that in a dSLR. The image sensor is much, much larger. To get the same "zoom" the lens will need to be heavy, very large and very expensive. Photography is all about give and take, you can't have it all you have to choose what you want, high quality images or big zoom numbers, you can't have both.
