DSLR advice?

Okay, I'm looking to buy a DSLR camera and I want one with videorecording function. I mainly want to take videos at concerts. I don't want to have to carry around 2 cameras, a DSLR without videorecording and my current Sony Cybershot with videorecording.

I'm 14 years old, and I don't have much money, so I'll have to settle for a cheaper DSLR.

The cameras I'm thinking of buying are:

- Canon EOS Rebel XS (no videorecording) $450
- Canon EOS Rebel T1i (has videorecording) $680
- Nikon D3100 (has videorecording) $630

I'm going to buy them from Futureshop and each one includes 18-55mm lenses, but they're different types of lenses…

The T1i is your best option as a DSLR for beginners.
Its quality is very high and its features are excellent.
It has full HD video, live view, an lcd with the highest
available resolution, and true high ISO support.
It costs less than what you wrote on amazon.

I own both the XS and the t1i and they're both excellent.

Yes one with video and one without. If you don't need video then the XS would be my recommendation. I've had mine for well over a year and it's simply excellent. But, if you have no experience with these cameras there's a learning curve you have to respect if you hope for high
technical quality these cameras offer. Also optics are important so consider lenses as you look over the cameras.

Many concerts don't allow you to bring in DSLR cameras into a concert, so you may want to check with those rules first before buying.

Between those cameras, both the T1i and D3100 are good cameras. It really comes down to user preference.

None. You will not be allowed to take a dSLR into a concert.
