What kind of lens is good for everyday use with a dslr?

I'm planning on purchasing a Nikon D3000 body separate and a lens kit for it which includes the fisheye lens, wide angle, and macro because I love the effects of those lenses. What type of lens should I get for just everyday use?

Referencing back to film SLR days, a 50 to 55 mm lens will give you pictures where the proportions are similar to what the eye sees standing in a given position - none of the flattening of a telephoto and no curved lines or details way out to the edge of the wide angle or fisheye.
Many people like(d) to use a short telephoto as a common lens - for me a 135 mm fairly fast lens stayed on my camera much of the time. Such a lens, used judiciously to avoid too many distances in image that clued to telephoto flattening, allowed taking candid/casual shots of people at meetings, parties, rehearsals, events without moving up to in-their-face or intruding. It also allowed taking pictures of animals without getting so close as to disturb them and of flowers etc without crawling across the bed.

The 18-55mm or, if your budget permits, the 18-105mm. Just about perfect for everyday use.

Nikon D3000? Increase your budget… And good lens are expensive… For example, my camera cost over $2000 and i spend $2000 on a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8
24-70mm f/2.8 is probably the best lens…
and
at least go get a Nikon D5100 or D7000
