What is the next step up, from a Nikon D5100? - 1

. The next best Nikon after the D5100? Based on price only.

I think its the nikon d7000

Based only on price it's the D90, which has a MSRP that's about $50 higher than the D5100. The D5100 has better specs in several regards but the D90 can auto focus with both AF and AF-S lenses. D5100 can only auto focus with AF-S lenses.
The D7000 is the next step up from the D90.

Based on price it would be the Nikon D7000 but the performance of the D5100 is very, very close to the D7000 so a real upgrade would be the full-frame Nikon D700.

If you are looking to upgrade, then don't… Cos if you are unable to take good photos with THAT entry level camera, you aren't gonna be any better with a next level camera…
D90 is probably the next one up…

I have a D5110 Nikon. Which nikon is the next best improvement?
