What happened to the lens on my Nikon D3000?

I just got a Nikon D3000 2 days ago, and when I first started taking pictures, everything through the eye hole looked really perfect and sharp. Now whenever I look through the lens, it's really dark and fuzzy. I'm not sure what I did, but can someone help to fix this?

Are your pictures coming out properly exposed? And it's called a viewfinder.

Clean it

You probably accidentally moved your diopter tab. To the side of the viewfinder you will find a little switch.

Did you adjust the diopter by mistake. That could account for fuzzy, but not dark.
You could also have set the depth-of-field preview on, that would account for dark.
If all else fails, look in your manual for the reset procedure and reset it.

Your terms are confusing.
First, you looked through the "eye hole" (viewfinder). But you saw dark and fuzzy "trough the lens". How can you look through the lens? I assume you are still looking through the eye hole. If not, say it correctly.
I think, the lens is out of focus. Check the lens switch (on its side) is set to A not M. Set your camera dial to AUTO (green icon) then try a shot. Aim at a subject about 4 meters away. If it will take a good shot, start reading your user's manual.

Adjust the diopter, and make sure your lens is put on correctly. A lot of times you can loosen the lens to get a DOF preview because d3000 don't have a DOF preview button.

Wow, another person who is using a camera they know nothing about.
What would you think of a person who asks a question like this?
"What happened to my car?
I just got this car 2 days ago, and when I first started driving, everything was fine. Now, whenever I press one of the pedals and turn some buttons on the dash, I can only go in reverse. I'm not sure what I did, but can someone help to fix this?"
Yep, you're that person.
But sure, I can help you fix your problem. It's really very simple…
