SLR camera help- which one?

I'm a 14 year old girl and for christmas i'm getting a SLR camera, i'm just not sure which kind i want yet, i have two in mind and need some help picking which would be best.

Between those two cameras it's a matter of personal preference. Try both at a Best Buy and see which one's ergonomics you prefer.

As you can see, the Nikon camera sensor does outperform the Canon's

They are both great. But I would be incline to get the Nikon D5100 Digital Single Lens Reflex
Or spend a little more and be set for a long time with the Nikon D7000…

Nikon d5100, its good in high iso

The T3i and D5100 are almost identical, so don't worry about anything here. Same quality, video, an articulating screen, same high ISO performance and 16 and 18 megapixels.

I'd personally go with the T3i because the D5100 has no AF motor built in so you have a few less lens options (still around 30), and that it has no ISO button (have to do it through the menu). Otherwise they're all great, every single DSLR.
