Being cropped off when I go to target and print them?
Taken with a Nikon D3000 and edited with color etc on my PC by GIMP but NEVER cropped on my computer. All sizes ranging from wallet size to 8x10

Added (1). Target is perfectly fine for photos. If I don't crop my images at home will target crop them? I don't want a missing head etc in the photo

The crop job labs do is automatic and crops to the middle of the frame.

As you know, the aspect ratio of a 4x6 is different from that of a 5x7 is different from that of a 8x10, etc.

What YOU need to do is pre-crop your images to match the aspect ratio of the print size you are having printed

If you are shooting specifically for 8x10 prints, you will have to leave room on each side of your viewfinder to make up for the amount of image that will be cropped at the time of printing

The only 4x6, 6x9, 12x8 etc prints will NOT be cropped when printed from your D3000 image files.

A lot of printing companies will crop and stretch to fill their standard formats. What I always do is just ask them not to and also to disable any automatic enhancement functions on their printers.

You can ask and see if they crop their photos.

I personally don't like Target for photos (at least not prints from film photos). Prints from digital photos are O. K. (nothing special).

If there's a way to increase the canvas size around your photo on GIMP, maybe you should do that just to be safe.

Yes they will crop. Your images are most likely 3:2 ratio (that means 2"x3", 4"x6", 6x9, 8x12, 10x15, etc… ). An 8x10 does not fit the same ratio and their system will automatically crop the image to fit 8x10. Same goes with 5x7.
