Problem with the nikon d3100?

When i try to change the focus mode and goto the menu it only has two options AF-A and MA but i want to change it to AF-C is there something i need to do
please help

Read the manual. Update - OK… The camera probably has to be on burst mode, aka Continuous shutter release. Update again… Read page 55 of your manual
