I have a SLR - Nikon F4 with a Nikon ED AF Nikon 80-200mm 1:2.8 Lens, and I was wondering will they work with a DSRL like Nikon D60 / D3100 etc?

For D3100, see here http://www.nikonusa.com/....TechSpecs

For D60 http://www.nikonusa.com/....TechSpecs

Basically it comes down to if the lens itself has an autofocus motor built into it (inside of it, not the camera), it can be used by camera to autofocus. If not, you have to focus it yourself. Some lower end Nikon cameras can't even meter with them (it will fit, but you won't have anyway to measure the light by the camera).

With everything below a D90/D7000 you'll be manual focussing that lens. And you don't get a decent focus screen.

The D60/D3100 and those need AF-S lenses to autofocus.

Now with a D7000, D200, D300 and up you also get metering with your Ai lenses.
