I took pictures with my Nikon d3100 a while ago, card was full so i deleted past pictures to make space for the new ones. When i checked, the deleted photos were still there, only it doesn't load anymore and it took the place of the new photos.

this particular photo that got corrupted was named dsc_1600, but when i click it its details show the deleted photos details (shows the deleted photo s date) but not todays.

i wonder why the file still shows only the pics won't load and it has the deleted photos date. Do the files i took today still exist? How can i recover them?

That usually means you bought a fake SD card from ebay. You need a new SD Card. You can test yours with H2testw.

It sounds like the thumbnails of the old photos have me associated with the new photos, if you are lucky you might be able to retrieve them
are you looking at them using the camera or putting the card in a PC
if you are doing the former try the latter
see if their is a database or thumbs file and delete that

Deleting images from a card in-camera is never a good idea - you end up with errors like you're having.

The method to ensure no errors is to download the images off the card, then format the card. Never delete in-camera.
