Photography with Nikon d3100?

So I have a friend who owns the same camera as me.
And when we're together, take the same picture, and post it online, hers looks very vibrant and thick.
mine looks normal. It's still good quality, and i love the camera but i want to know how you make it look
Vibrant and thick.
I would ask her but she left for DR yesterday.

I heared something about a saturation change and making the light look lighter and make the dark look darker.
is it that?

Look for "Picture Control" in your menus and try changing to "vivid" to see if you like it.
