Photography lighting and backdrop?

I'm setting up a photoshoot to do with dancers. I have a studio space with great natural lighting, but I wanted a white backdrop and very strong lighting to get sharp contrasts and shadows. I don't have a lot of money to buy any expensive equipment, but I do have really bright painter's lights that I think could work really well. I just don't know what to use for a backdrop. Any tips (on the backdrop, lighting, shooting tips)?

P.s. I have a Nikon D3200

Unless the lighting from the sun is falling directly into the studio setup, you will not get sharp shadows on your white background.

Usually photographers who shoot models, glamour and dancers using natural light coming through the studio windows, use windows are facing North so the light is indirect and soft.

What you are asking about is quite common. Most photographers who have studios or access to studios, spend a lot of time experimenting with lighting and directing models. This can take years before your style of photography is established and you become expert at collaborating with your models to produce brilliant images

You really have to be able to see what the light is doing and one way to do that is to spend some time looking at what photographers and models are posting on Model Mayhem and One Model Place. Study the lighting and the poses that are most appealing to you and then try emulating them

When I first started shooting in a studio, we were shooting products so the lighting was pretty straight forward. When I started shooting fashion, the whole skill level jumped a quantum level and took me a few years to get comfortable with setting up different lighting combinations.

I learned how to direct models as a result of my attending film school and learning how to direct actors.
